What We Collect

  • Face images — Your selfie is used solely for face swap processing. We do NOT train AI models on your face data. Selfies are deleted within 24 hours of processing.
  • Music videos — Uploaded or linked videos are processed temporarily and not shared publicly.
  • Account info — Email and name from Google Sign-In for account management.
  • Payment data — Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card numbers.
  • Usage data — If you consent to analytics cookies, we collect anonymous page views and feature usage via PostHog. No personal data is sold.

How We Use Your Data

  • Face images are processed on secured GPU servers (Google Cloud Run) and deleted after your video is generated.
  • Generated videos are stored so you can access and share them from your account.
  • Email addresses are used for: account access, video completion notifications, and (if you opt in) product updates. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
  • Analytics data (with your consent) helps us improve the product. We do not sell personal data.

Biometric Data

StarJam processes facial geometry from your selfie to perform face swaps. This data is:

  • Processed in-memory only (not stored in a database)
  • Deleted within 24 hours of processing
  • Never used to train AI models
  • Never shared with third parties
  • Only processed with your explicit consent (by uploading a selfie)

Data Retention & Deletion

  • Source selfies — Deleted within 24 hours of processing.
  • Generated videos — Stored for 90 days unless you request earlier deletion.
  • Account data — Retained while your account is active.
  • Analytics data — Anonymized and aggregated. Individual sessions expire after 30 days.
  • Account deletion — Email hello@studioram.app and we'll delete all your data within 48 hours.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate StarJam:

  • Google Firebase — Authentication, database, file storage. Privacy Policy
  • Google Cloud Run — GPU processing for face swaps. Data processed in US regions.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Privacy Policy
  • Mailgun — Email notifications (video ready, referral rewards, account updates). Privacy Policy

Your Rights

All Users

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@studioram.app.

EU/EEA Residents (GDPR)

Our lawful basis for processing is consent (for face data and analytics) and legitimate interest (for service operation). You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time

California Residents (CCPA)

We do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of analytics tracking by declining cookies.

Children (COPPA)

StarJam is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
